With leopard sightings increasing in Khandaj village of Baramati taluka, the Gram Panchayat has urged the Forest Department and other authorities to take immediate safety measures, including installing cages, increasing patrols and ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
माळेगाव : बारामती तालुक्यातील खांडज गाव परिसरात गेल्या दोन वर्षांपासून बिबट्यांचा वाढता वावर नागरिकांसाठी चिंतेचा विषय बनला आहे. बिबट्यांच्या हल्ल्यात अनेक शेळ्या व इतर पाळीव जनावरे मृत्युमुखी पडली असून, आता बिबट्यांचे वास्तव्य मानवी वस्तीलगत असल्याने ग्रामस्थांमध्ये भीतीचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले आहे. या पार्श्वभूमीवर ग्रामपंचायत खांडजने वनविभाग, महसूल, पोलीस प्रशासन व महावितरण यांना तातडीने उपाययोजना करण्याची मागणी करणारे निवेदन आज दिले.
